Instructions
The application accompanying these directions must be completed accurately. Graduating high school seniors, who are planning to enter the field of education, who will attend a four-year college or university next year are eligible to apply. (Application not available on line at present. Contact Gayle Pinkston at gpinkston@simi.k12.ca.us)
The award of $250.00 will be sent to the recipient following verification of enrollment for the fall semester at the university or college of the recipient's choice.
The application must include the following:
The applicant selected will be invited to attend a reception on Saturday morning June 13th. The recipient's parents will also be invited to attend the reception. You will be notified by invitation for the date, place, and time of the reception.

The application must include the following:
- The "College Grant Application Form" completed neatly and accurately. Please use additional pages to type out your School/Community section, Recognition, Interests and Reference section. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. Please make sure your full name is on each additional page.
- A one-page typed essay (see application for topic) that must be typed and attached to the application.
- Two letters of recommendation. One must be from a teacher and one must be from a member of the community, someone who knows you outside of school (not a relative). They must be attached to your application.
- High school grade transcripts.
