Leading women educators impacting education worldwide.

Our Purpose

  1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship.
  2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education.
  3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in education.
  4. To initiate, endorse and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators.
  5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-member women educators.
  6. To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action.
  7. To inform the members of current economic, social, political, and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society.

Delta Kappa Gamma Zeta Programs 2022-2023

Collections for World Fellowship or the Chapter Project will occur at every meeting. Refreshments will be served from 5:45- 6:00 followed by the program/meeting. Refreshments will be limited to a drink and simple snacks. The hostess first listed with an * will be the chairperson for the committee assigned. COMMITTEE MEMBERS are asked to help setup and help with cleanup.

Chapter Rules


Chapter Projects:

2017-2023

  1. Early Career Educators. Promote Early Career Educators by providing a goodie bag for each new female teacher in the Jasper County districts of Newton, Baxter, Prairie City-Monroe, Colfax-Mingo, and Lynnville-Sully districts.
  2. Support for area schools. Members are collecting Campbell's soup labels and box tops.
  3. The Ronald McDonald House. Members are collecting soda can tabs.
  4. Domestic Violence Alternatives-Sexual Assault Shelter. Members are collecting sample-sized toiletries, such as shampoo, toothpaste, and lotions.
  5. Plants/welcome message for new educators in the Jasper County Schools of Newton, Baxter, Prairie City-Monroe, Colfax-Mingo and Lynnville-Sully.

Chapter History:

Our chapter was organized in Newton, Iowa on March 8, 1940 by the Upsilon State Membership chairperson Mrs. Nina Goltry. There were seventeen charter members from Jasper County. We currently have 31 members, 1 reserve member, and 1 honorary member from these school districts in Jasper County: Baxter, Colfax-Mingo., Lynnville-Sully, Newton and Prairie City-Monroe.
