The International Communications Committee
is "Creating a BUZZ" to make Delta Kappa
Gamma more visible in our communities, states,
and country. They will be developing a
"Tip of the Month", with ideas to help us to
get the word out about our wonderful society.
Find information about features in recent
issues of the Bulletin, including interviews,
the 75th Anniversary, and "Letters to the
Editor" in the
January Tip of the Month.

President's Message
Welcome to the Upsilon
State (Iowa) website!
You will find an array of information about the exciting
educational events in our state.
During the 2009-2011 biennium, our theme is “The Magic of
Teaching and Learning.”
The “spell” of magic includes the following:

M = Membership -- |
We've added 13
area coordinators.

A=Anniversary -- |
We
will be celebrating our 75th state anniversary in June
2011 in Burlington. |

G=Gift of Reading -- |
Either start or expand a reading project to
encourage reading among students, teachers, and
community members. Donating books would be fine,
but try to also find a way for members to
participate in reading. |

I=Iowa -- |
We
will support Carolyn Rants, our Iowan, with her
international presidency. Feel free to send
Carolyn encouraging messages! |

C=Communication -- |
We have
added a wiki page for each committee chair.

There is magic in the air in Iowa!
Add to the magic through your own chapter and by
participating in the next state
convention on June 11-13, 2010, at the Five Sullivan Brothers
Convention Center in Waterloo.

Golden Gift Award
The Golden Gift Fund Committee is
pleased to announce that Mary Zirkelbach of Tau Chapter and
Upsilon State Second Vice President has been recognized for her
outstanding achievement and leadership potential. The committee
had many applicants, and we are sorry that not all could be
given this award.

National Legislative Seminar
The U.S. Forum of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society
International will hold its 7th National
Legislative Seminar (NLS) March 14-17, 2010 at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in Washington, DC. For
