Dr. Brown won honors both in the United States and abroad. She had a wide range of experiences as a high school teacher and as a college professor and received honors as both an educator and a writer.

She did not continue an extended interest in Delta Kappa Gamma but devoted her time and energies to her profession and her family. She lived many of her retirement years in Skokie, Illinois.
