Professional Enrichment Award

Guidelines

In a brief paragraph describe:

  1. The educational conferences, conferences dealing with current educational goals of your institution, workshops, seminars and state and national conventions which you plan to attend and give reasons for your interests.
  2. A new classroom practice which you plan to initiate and your reasons for doing so.
  3. A new supervisory practice which you plan to initiate and your reasons for doing so.
  4. A new administrative practice which you plan to initiate and your reasons for doing so.
  5. A new workbook, textbook, or other professional writing that you plan to undertake and the reason for your interest.

Anticipated Expenses

Include an estimate of the expenses you expect to incur. These should include:

  1. Registration fee, transportation, room accommodations, and meals.
  2. The Enrichment Award will pay up to, but not exceed $300 upon the submission of receipt(s) of payment.

Requirements

  1. This plan must be read and approved by your chapter president and immediate supervisor.
  2. Letters of recommendation from your chapter president and immediate supervisor must accompany your application.
  3. If the applicant will be using the Enrichment Award during the school year, the application must include a letter of permission for the appropriate leave from someone in authority within the educational system.

Eligibility

  1. All applicants must be employed in an educational system during the period covered by the award. Service to professional education is to be an important criterion in the selection of a recipient.
  2. There will be a maximum of five (5) awards available each year. An awardee must wait 5 years before applying again. An applicant must have been a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for two (2) years before applying.
  3. Regular attendance at chapter meetings and participation in chapter activities are qualifications for receiving the award. A State member would be exempt from the chapter qualification for two (2) years after her chapter dissolved. There will be no deadline so applications will be reviewed in a first-come, first-served basis.

After attending the appropriate Professional Enrichment program, submit a short summary of the program to:
