Chapters should look closely at any state legislator in their region to nominate for the Golden Apple award to be given at Legislative Day at the capitol in Baton Rouge.
Guidelines for nominations are 1) legislator is a "friend of education", 2) has a record of successfully introduced and passed legislation that has impacted women, children, families, 3) is a strong advocate for fostering legislation affecting teachers, children, families, and education, 4) supported positive legislation in support of educational issues.
Chapters should send the name of their nominee with a resume of the legislator's legislative record to
