75th Anniversary Teaching Stories

Many chapter members submitted a "Teaching Story." Seventy-five stories were selected for a publication in honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Society. |

Members should complete the "Chapter Profile Survey." Compiled chapter results will be mailed to the State Research Committee..

Annual Legislative Day in April
|
A Legislative Committee plans the Legislative Day held in Baton Rouge each spring. Members spend time with Legislators one-on-one and generally share a meal together.

Ten-Year History
|
Each Chapter prepared a 10-year history to submit to the Heritage Task Force. Each chapter president should compile a 2-year history for their biennium and include it in the president's file. |

Theme Baskets
|
Create a unique basket for State Convention drawings. Proceeds support first-timers and presenters to the International Convention or the Southeast Regional Conference. |

Walk Across Louisiana for Literacy and Numeracy
|
Get sponsors to pay you for every mile that you walk.
Part of the money (90%) collected is kept by your chapter to help finance
a literacy and numeracy project in your community. The remaining amount (10%) will
be sent to Epsilon State to be used for state literacy and numeracy projects.

Epsilon State Program Directory
|
"Programs, Projects, Profiles" (a booklet) was distributed at June 2004 Officers Leadership/Training Workshop. It contains Epsilon State chapter programs/projects. "International Ideas for Chapter Programs" will be shared at Fall 2004 district meetings. It contains descriptions of 75 of the best chapter programs discussed at the recent international convention.

Plaques are being placed in Louisiana schools that have been named after women who have been distinctive educators.

Vivian Bourgeois Special Stipends
|
Special Stipends are funded by a bequest from Miss Vivian Bourgeois, a past Epsilon State President. Applicants must be actively teaching. They must attend a significant convention, conference, workshop, or seminar specializing in the content or subject matter they teach. It cannot be a Delta Kappa Gamma sponsored meeting.
