Teachers in the four western North Carolina counties participated in a distance learning opportunity provided at Tri-County Community College through a Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Affairs grant. The Saturday, March 26 training provided current technology information to teachers in Clay, Cherokee, Graham and Macon Counties. The daylong program was offered as an outreach effort of TCCC and Eta State of DKG. Dr. Jeanette Hedrick, Region XI Eta State Director of DKG, facilitated the event along with recent DKG International graduate scholarship recipient and Andrews art teacher Dedra Davis. Robi Elliot of TCCC provided technical support for the event. TCCCVice President Jan Westmoreland facilitated the program scheduling. Area teachers appreciated the accessible training and. thank TCCC for serving as one the statewide host sites along with ECU,WCU, UNCA, UNCG, and Campbell University. Participants also appreciate DKG Eta State for providing the professional training and presenters Dr. Bobby Hobgood and Vicki Smith for providing such interesting and informative sessions.
