July 24, 2012 Opening Meeting in the Metropolitan Ball Room
Over 2,000 women registered at this convention; the Opening Meeting began with the Presentation of Flags

July 24, 2012 Opening Night speaker, Tori Murden McClure, president of Spalding College in Louisville, KY, shared experiences and challenged the audience in her speech "Dare Mighty Things;" she was the first woman to row across the Alantic Ocean; she was also the first of four riveting speakers at each of the General Meetings

 
July 24, 2012 New York Night was held immediately after the Opening Meeting; the festivities featured topnotch dancers and musicans including Dandy Wellington and His Band (jazz), Geoff Packard and Celeste Henderson (performed Broadway tunes), the Soul Steps (rhythmic dancing), The Redhawk Dance Troupe (pictured above) and the UN Singers in native dress rounded out the evening with folk songs from around the world
