PHOTO GALLERY - 2019 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
The International Conference: Arts & Humanties was held June 27-29 at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville, North Carolina. It was hosted by NC DKG, and it was the first of five themed conferences. There were 451 DKG members in attendance.

On opening night, attendees enjoyed a performance by The Whitewater Bluegrass Co. featuring “Uncle Ted” White and including bluegrass music, country ballads, mountain swing and down-home humor
 
Also during opening night, the J. Creek Cloggers gave a demonstration of buck dance, flat-foot, and clogging throughout their routines, and elicited attendees’ participation
 
President Evelyn Hall with our beautiful centerpiece that graced one of the tables during the conference
 
Southeast Regional Director Elaine Warwick, Tennessee, encouraged attendees to take advantage of the unique conference experience with specially selected speakers, workshops and entertainment celebrating the arts
 
NC DKG President Connie Savell welcomed attendees to North Carolina
 
Tammy Watford, WLOS TV evening news anchor, and Joseph Fishleigh, station general manager, accepted the 2019 DKG Arts & Humanities Conference Media Award for their weeknight education segment
 
Dr. Kevan Frazier, Executive Director of Western Carolina University's Asheville program and author of Legendary Locals of Asheville, shared the history of the social and economic development of Asheville and the rich culture of the area
 
DKG Executive Director Nita Scott (right) introduces keynote speaker DKG International President Cathy Daugherty who presented ways that the Society can stay healthy and vibrant with the focus on CPR - Commitment, Professionalism and Recognition as a prescription for success in making a difference
 
NC DKG Member Peggy Stuart made many attendees very happy as she announced the door prize winners at the end of each session
 
Many attendees added their on touch to creating this piece of art
 
Attendees were entertained by the Conference Chorus directed by Nancy Davis, Tennessee, and accompanied by our own Pat Taylor
 
The conference concluded Saturday with a banquet showcasing the arts featuring Sheila Kay Adams, a seventh generation ballad singer, storyteller and claw-hammer banjo player from Sodom Laurel community of Madison County, NC; she read excerpts from one of her books, Come Go Home with Me, resulting in much laughter; she also entertained with her banjo playing
