Dr. Elaine Alexander from Beta Epsilon Chapter in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has been an active member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for 24 years. She has been an educator for 31 years as both a secondary English teacher and a school-based technology specialist. She holds B.S. and M.A. degrees from The University of Tennessee – Knoxville and an Ed.D. degree from Vanderbilt University.A graduate of the 2014 Golden Gift Leadership Management Seminar in Austin, Texas, she currently chairs the 2015-17 Xi State Membership Committee and is a member of the 2016 International Convention Steering Committee. She presented the breakout session “From the Dust of Halley’s Comet: Magic, Mystery, Mark Twain” at both the Northeast Regional Conference in Baltimore and Southeast Regional Conference in Savannah in July 2015.A member of the National Council of Teachers of English, she serves as the English Department Chair at Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School in Murfreesboro, and when she’s not teaching 8th-graders, she and her husband enjoy watching their 16-year-old son play baseball. |
