 SCHOLARSHIPS AND HOSTELSHIPS

Sigma State Graduate Study Scholarships

The first scholarship fund established in Wisconsin was named in honor Sigma State’s first Treasurer, C. Lorena Reichert, a charter member of Alpha Chapter, Madison.  It is used to support the Hazel Duling and Founders’ Scholarships.

Hazel Duling, a member of Epsilon Chapter, Oshkosh, also served as a treasurer of Sigma State and was instrumental in establishing the second scholarship fund.  Hazel Duling Scholarships of up to $4,000 for full-time doctoral degree study at nationally accredited institutions of high education are available.

Founders’ Scholarships have been awarded since 1965 when this fund was established in commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of Sigma State.  Founders’ Scholarships, when awarded in the maximum amount of $4,000, are given in recognition of a specific founder.  Founders’ Scholarships are awarded for work beyond a bachelors degree, may be used for coursework leading to license renewal, recertification or additional certification, and may be for full-time or part-time study during the summer session and academic year (fall, winter, spring term sessions), immediately following the scholarship award presentations at state convention.
