Delta Kappa Gamma Society International



BETA ZETA CHAPTER
 
The Beta Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, is located in District V of Mu State, the Florida State Organization for Delta Kappa Gamma. We welcome you to our website and we would be pleased to answer any questions that you have about our organization. We are dedicated to promoting education throughout the world and offering women everywhere scholarships for higher education so they may pursue their ideals and goals. We are proud to be a part of the Delta Kappa Gamma sisterhood and we invite you to come in and look around!  
  
History
 
Delta Kappa Gamma was established in 1929. Membership is by invitation and is extended to those women educators whose distinguished contributions and achievements in the field of education and to the communities are identified as outstanding.
 
The nurturing environment for the Society encourages all members to grow and reach the highest levels of professional and personal accomplishments their many unique talents allow. Members are committed to fulfilling the potential for greatness, for creativity, for leadership and for service through appropriate programs of action.

The Beta Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International was established in 1965.

The three categories of membership are active, reserve and honorary. An active member shall be a woman who is employed as a professional educator or has been retired from an educational position. An active member shall participate in the activities of the Society. Reserve membership is limited to those members no longer able to participate. Honorary membership is extended to selected women in recognition of their significant professional and/or community contributions to education who otherwise are ineligible for active membership. Membership in the society carries responsibility as well as honor. Those who accept the invitation to join commit themselves to taking an active part in program special projects and organizational activities.
 

   

Beta Zeta's outgoing President, Virgie Lee Shaw, passed the gavel to Jeannie Vilato, the new incoming President for 2012-2014. Congratulations Jeannie, who continues to hold this position throughout 2016-2018!!!
