To introduce Delta Kappa Gamma to retiring teachers, Omicron hosts a Retirement Tea in June. In 2014 the Tea was held at the home of Dr. Marilyn Howard, Omicron member and former Idaho State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Lists of retiring teachers are sought from Meridian, Kuna, Boise, and Mountain Home. Invitations are sent or given to the retiring ladies from these districts. Others are also invited including some early career educators. Using the DKG tri-fold as a visual reference, information about the Society is shared. Each member tells about herself briefly and mentions the benefits membership and the role of DKG in her life and career. Guests also introduce themselves and ask questions. Guests are invited to the September meeting.
