2016 Alpha Rho State Finance Committee Annual Report
Membership was down causing the budget to be less than it was last year, but we paid the bills. Investments rose, collecting interest, allowing for more scholarship opportunities! All chapters have submitted their Form 990 to the IRS. The chapters seem to be doing well collecting the $1.00 increase in our dues and paying their bills. All but one chapter paid all bonding fees of $15.00.
The mileage reimbursement amount stayed the same at $0.28 per mile minus 60 miles from the round trip total, for all eligible members other than the president and vice-president who do not have to deduct their miles.
The committee reviewed the state’s financial books in February at the finance meeting for the budget, and found no problems. The conference budget was reviewed and a reduction for publicity in the New Oregon Trail was noted, as well as, an increase in the liability insurance to cover the two-day conference. The Budget Controller’s report for 2014-15 was reviewed and we were under budget. The 2016-2017 budget was created with a cut on line item 5232A - New Oregon Trail because we have gone digital. ($3,840.00 to $1740.00)
The Unique Boutique records were looked at with no problems found. The boutique has allowed Alpha Rho State to create benefits for its members and is doing well.
Alpha Rho State is still working on the forms for a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit status.
