DKG Finland

Welcome to the Delta Kappa Gamma Finland State Organisation

Delta Kappa Gamma is a Society of Key Women Educators organized in North America, Central America, Japan and Europe. Nearly 50,000 members in 17 countries promote the professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International came to Finland in 1974, when Alpha Chapter was founded in Helsinki and Beta Chapter in Jyväskylä. These were followed by Gamma Chapter in Turku (1975), Delta Chapter in Oulu and Epsilon Chapter in Joensuu (1980) and Zeta Chapter in Tampere (1990). At the moment we have approximately 90 members. The Finland State Organisation is run by each chapter in turn for two years. The annual general meeting and seminar are organised by the board of the Finland State Organisation.

DKG Society International has two online publications, The DKG News and President's Page, which can be accessed by members using their membership no. and password. Other publications include The Delta Kappa Bulletin, International Journal for Professional Educators, and DKG Bulletin: Collegial Exchange. It also makes available funding for scholarships, seminars and meetings.

Locally we try to achieve the goals of the society. Each chapter has its own annual theme, projects and plan of action.
