Members present: Janice McClung, Susan Vinson, Joy Moore, Gale Workman, Anne Black, Cecilia Hack, Rhonda Work, Gwen Dixon, Jacque Clemens, June Townsend, JoAnne Arnett, Sherrill Ragans, Janice Smith-Dann, and Teresa Horn

At 7:25 p.m. an initiation ceremony was held for our new member Jean Williams. This was followed by a fellowship time in which we enjoyed desserts supplied by our members whose last names begin with M-Z.

At 7:50 p.m. the World Fellowship program was held. Sherrill Ragans introduce Debbie Gibson, a teacher at Swift Creek Middle School, to speak about Ten Thousand Villages. Debbie volunteers at the store every couple of weeks. She explained the difference between free trade and fair trade. Ten Thousand Villages is one of the largest fair trade retailers. Seventy percent of the artists are women. Debbie also brought a few products from the store to share with us. More information can be found at tenthousandvillages.com.

At 8:50 p.m. the meeting was called to order.

Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the January 23, 2010 meeting were approved.

Treasurer's Report: As of March 18, 2010, our chapter has a cash balance of $1077.45 (which is a healthy balance). A motion was made by J. Townsend and seconded by C. Hack that $500 of this be used. $250 would be sent to the state emergency fund and $250 would be given to the Mary Woodbery scholarship fund. The motion was approved. This will leave us with a projected balance of $480.71.

Scholarship Committee Report: Anne Black reported that there was one applicant for the Mary Woodbery scholarship, and that person will receive $1500.

Crochet Bag Project: Gale Workman is a member of Crochet for Charity that makes bags and gives them to different charity organizations. Since the group has at least 50 bags made, she recommended that we provide first year teachers will a bag filled with school supplies. It was also suggested that information be included about Delta Kappa Gamma and a note of welcome from our group. This project will come out of next year's fiscal budget.

B.A.G.-Bring a Gift for the International Emergency Fund:
We are donating $250 from our budget instead of passing the hat.
