Alpha Kappa Chapter Minutes CHAPTER MINUTES - Meeting July 18, 2011, Summer Luncheon Members present: Ann Black, Ceil Hack, LaTressa Marschka, Linda Rogers, Joy Miller, Gale Workman, Missy Jungling, Rhonda Work, Jackie Clemens, Katherine Kenton, JoAnne Arnett, and Dawn James. The ladies of DKG met this morning at 11:30 for lunch at Old Town Café. We began our summer meeting with LaTressa Marschka discussing the tote supply list and sharing where we could get great deals! (Refer to Missy's previous email for a list of items.) Gail Workman shared that the totes will be given to teachers teaching ESE children this year at Gretchen Everhart, Pace, and Ghazvini. Missy reviewed our upcoming year's meeting dates. Our first official meeting of the school year will be Saturday, August 13th at Westminster Oaks Pool House at 9:30 a.m. Ladies whose last names begin with A-M need to bring a breakfast/brunch dish. Other meeting dates are as follows: Monday, October 3rd 7 p.m. Rock Out at Ginny Densmore's home Saturday, November ? - Initiation Thursday, December 8th 7 p.m. Cookie Sway at Dawn James' home Saturday, February ? - Legislative Meeting Tuesday, April 17, Dinner Out, Saturday, May ? - Founders' Luncheon Wednesday, July 18th- Summer Social Rhonda reviewed the Treasurer's Report from last year. We ended the year with $858.63 in the bank! Rhonda also presented the budget for the 2011-2012 school year. Dawn James made a motion to accept the budget and JoAnne Arnett seconded the motion. Rhonda presented the tentative prices for dues ($75 active/$35 reserve) but there were not enough members present to vote. Missy gave us the membership recommendation sheets and asked that they be turned in at the August meeting. The next item on the agenda was to share member news. We were all so excited to have Ceil join us today. She looked beautiful (as always)! Rhonda asked that we keep June Townsend in our prayers. Jackie Clemens told us that JoAnn's Fabric offers grants for teachers for anyone interested. We all enjoyed a wonderful lunch and ended the meeting with each member present sharing exciting news we had or about adventures we have planned for this summer. We missed those who could not join us. Respectfully submitted, Dawn James |
