Hi Everyone!

I hope that you have all had a relaxing summer and are as eager as I am to plan our chapter activities for 09-10. While reminiscing about this point in time last year, I have to chuckle. We were cheerfully planning our first meeting for the year never imagining that Faye would have such an impact on our weekend! I still picture the handful of members who braved the elements to attend the first meeting. We were huddled at the front door of the Westminster Oaks Clubhouse eating Ceil Hack's delicious muffins! The old saying, "Ignorance is bliss." certainly applied on that morning! Keep your fingers crossed that our August meeting proves to be sunny and calm. If not, our second wish would be that Ceil bakes her great muffins again!

If you are not already aware, we have a new state president who recently stepped into her biennium of service. Her name is Ruth Pridgen and the "theme" that she promotes during her leadership is: Moving Forward with Spirit and Vision. When I heard Ruth proclaim her "theme" I couldn't help but feel pride in knowing that our chapter echoes her platform. Our membership is filled with spirit and vision and our programs consistently demonstrate these traits. During our first meeting we'll have a chance to plan new programs and discuss the qualities of key women educators as we consider recommendations for membership.

If your last name begins with one of the letters A through L, don't forget that you will be responsible for bringing a breakfast item to our August meeting.

I look forward to our first meeting together on August 22nd! We have some wonderful information to share.

Smiles,
Janice

Please, please, please provide Janice and Connie with any changes to your email address or phone number. Don't forget that there is an online version of the yearbook should you need to access updated information that is not already in your binder. We are aware that a handful of members have not yet received a binder. Once we make the updates, we'll be sure to distribute them! To access our chapter website you will follow this link:
