Last names beginning with the letters A through L will be responsible for bringing breakfast foods. Hi Everyone!I am so excited to begin my biennium as Alpha Kappa's new president! I can only hope that I provide the level of leadership and dedication as Betty Niedoroda. She was instrumental in building our chapter and its programs while serving as president over the past two years. Thank you Betty! We sincerely appreciate all that you did for us. I, in particular, learned so much about our society while serving with Betty. She piqued my interest about our DKG society. If you've had time to travel through the Delta Kappa Gamma International website you too may have discovered valuable information. A couple of important discoveries that I made were about passion and mentoring. Did you know that the Delta Kappa Gamma program theme is titled, Passion for Learning: The Essence of Growth? Did you know that mentoring is being emphasized by Mu State and DKG International? The next time you are seated in front of your computer or newsletters take a few minutes to travel through the information. I guarantee that you will learn quite a bit about the organization and the initiatives it promotes. Let's consider passion and mentoring as we plan our programs for 08-09! I look forward to our first meeting together on August 23rd. We have some wonderful information to share. Smiles,Janice Looking Back... ![]() The summer luncheon was well received. It was fun to hear the chatter about Dawn's new baby, Susan's new publication, Delores' retirement, Judy's travel to antique car shows, Anne's travel to the Outer Banks, Rhonda's travel to Africa and the Carolinas, Jessica's recent addition and her move to Tennessee, the upcoming wedding of Teresa's daughter, Martha's surgery, and many other "hot" topics. Looking Ahead…![]() Our committees will have the opportunity to plan some wonderful programs for our future meetings. Do you remember our first program planned by the Communication Committee last year? Dr. Selena Snowden, audiologist, shared information about current technology used to enhance listening. At one point she mentioned Bluetooth technology and someone asked her where the term "Bluetooth" originated. Dr. Snowden asked that I share its origin. Bluetooth was the name of a 10th century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth. He united Norway and Denmark! It's always fun to learn from our programs! Attached, you'll find:
