Why: Fall Friendship

Last names beginning with the letters A through L will be responsible for bringing breakfast food.

Dear Members,

What a wonderful time of the year we are enjoying! The school year is in full swing, stadiums are alive with sports fans, the leaves on the trees are creating beautiful palettes in the city, and Alpha Kappa Chapter members will soon gather for Fall Friendship.

Please note that we will meet next Saturday at Cecilia Hack's home. Cecilia's neighbors at 2419 Buttonbush have agreed to allow folks to park in their driveway since they are in the process of selling their home. Their driveway can accommodate 4 vehicles. There is plenty of parking on the road and in the cul de sac as well. Cecilia suggests that we all park at an angle to allow for as many vehicles as possible.

Remember that the membership drive is alive and well. Thus far, we have two applicants who were recommended and voted on. Don't forget to bring your recommendations for membership to the next meeting because it will be the final opportunity to vote with a consensus present at a meeting.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

Smiles,
Janice

Looking Back...

Our September meeting had hearty representation as our Membership Committee shared their program. Gale Workman and Jacque Clemens showed an informative video that captures the history of our wonderful organization. They also alerted us to the membership drive incentives that are currently in place. Delores Hudson and Jacque Clemens presented two applications for membership and each received unanimous votes of acceptance. The membership drive continues! We would like to have at least 3 more applications to review so please bring your recommendations to our next meeting.

Looking Ahead…

Fall Friendship is the theme for October 11th. While gathered at our last meeting Jo Anne Arnett suggested that we reserve as much time as possible to get to know each other a bit more. The collective response was, "Yes, great idea Jo Anne!" So, mark your calendars for next Saturday's meeting. We look forward to voting on new applications and moving directly into Fall Friendship.

Initiation will take place on November 9th at Riversink Elementary School (Wakulla County's newest!). Our speaker is Kay Collins, the principal of Nims Middle School.

Prayers to:    Janice Smith-Dann over the loss of her husband, Dr. Elias Dann.

Don't forget to contact Connie Lewis with any web-worthy news or changes in address, phone number, or workplace information.

Roses go to…..

Gale Workman and Jacque Clemens for their wonderful Membership Program.

Jacque Clemens and Delores Hudson for their recommendations for membership. They each recommended a strong candidate.

Rhonda Work for her remarkable service as our chapter treasurer.
