Alpha Rho State
2013 Convention

Red Lion Hotel - On the River

Jantzen Beach - Portland, OR

May 3 - 5, 2013

Welcome to the 2013 Alpha Rho State Convention Site!

Our convention is planned around our theme “Building Bridges to Educational Excellence.”   Cross over the bridges of Health/Wellness, Nutrition, Exercise, and Community Resources to reach the grand bridge of Educational Excellence!  This grand bridge will lead us to a state where all children are successful in school because their teachers have learned the importance of taking care of themselves.

The Red Lion on the River at Jantzen Beach is waiting our arrival on May 3, 2013.  Make your hotel reservations now and sign up for the convention early so you can be entered into the “Block Party” to win a prize.  Plan on arriving early on Friday, May 3 and join us for our 2:00p.m. tour of the Transitional School (please sign up for the tour on the registration form) and schedule a massage with Kendall Hutchison at the convention registration desk after 1:00p.m.  Massages will be on Friday only between the hours of 3:30p.m. -  6:25p.m.  Cost is $10 for 10 minutes and you can sign up for one or two time slots.

Check out our keynote speakers above!  DKG member Dr. Nancy Golden is joining us again with a new topic.  Those of you who saw her last year won’t want to miss her return performance.  Decide on what workshops interest you the most.  PDU’s earned and workshop locations and times will be listed in the program you will receive upon your arrival at convention.

Each member present at convention will have a chance to vote on your new state officers for 2013-2015.  Spend some time visiting with the candidates to find out about them before the general session where you will be voting.  Installation of your new officers will be before the Rose Banquet Saturday night.

Remember you can bring non members to convention so they too can earn PDU’s and participate in all the activities.  Their registration cost is only $5 if they want to receive PDU’s.  They could attend for free if they don’t want them, but they still must register. If non members would like to join us for a meal, they will need to pay full price for it.

New for this year is the celebration of our members who have earned a Doctorate or who are Nationally Board Certified.

We hope to see you all there!
