Friday Night's Keynote Speaker

Inge Aldersebaes, MPH, CHES

In January 2012, Inge Aldersebaes joined OEA Choice Trust as their program manager to oversee the Trust’s Employee Wellness Grant Program.  The goal of the Employee Wellness Grant Program is to improve the health and well-being of Oregon school employees through grant-making; focusing on empowering and enabling the participants to take responsibility for improving their health within a supportive workplace environment. To date, OEA Choice Trust has awarded a total of 50 grants to 26 Oregon public school employee groups –  K-12, Community Colleges and Education Service Districts, touching over 12,000 lives.

Inge Aldersebaes served as the co-lead for Oregon's Wellness@Work Initiative, a statewide effort to encourage every Oregon employer to build a culture of wellness at work. The public-private partnership, coordinated by the Oregon Public Health Division, aspires to reach more than one million Oregonians through workplace policies and programs that support employees to eat healthier, move more, quit tobacco, and use the kinds of health care benefits that will improve and sustain their health.

Prior to Oregon’s Wellness@Work initiative, Inge was the Associate Director for Field Services with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program. The Alliance for a Healthier Generation was founded by the WJ Clinton Foundation and National American Heart Association to address childhood obesity.  Inge was responsible for implementation of the “hands-on” Healthy Schools Program designed to create healthy school environments to promote physical activity and healthy eating among students and staff.  She led a team of 40 field staff that directly delivered technical assistance and training to 2900 schools in 36 states.

Additionally, Inge served as a program evaluation associate with the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (now known as Education Northwest) in the area of comprehensive school reform and school-wide improvement. She has over 25 years of professional experience in both public health and education assisting public and private organizations in developing, implementing, and evaluating system-wide programs such as worksite wellness, comprehensive school reform, school improvement, and coordinated school health in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Montana and Idaho.

Inge has her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Management and a Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Promotion and Health Education
