About Us

Funding Opportunities

Scholarships are offered to financially assist members of Alpha Kappa State who are enrolled in accredited programs of graduate study or who attend national/regional professional workshops and/or institutes.

DKG offers the Lucile Cornetet Awards for the professional development of its members. Individual Awards are given to individual educators to assist their participation in professional development opportunities through approved professional development providers. Seminar Awards are granted to sponsor professional development seminars. Regions, areas, and state organizations may apply for a Seminar Award to assist in providing professional development opportunities for educators in their locales. Find out more:

Margaret H. Croft Honorary Fund

An additional source of financial support for Alpha Kappa State members is available through the Margaret H. Croft Honorary Fund. This fund was established in 1975 to honor our third state president and recognize her devotion to the society. Awards to qualified members are considered for the following reasons:

  • For personal growth and education for professional advancement otherwise unavailable through scholarships;
  • For extenuating circumstances demanding immediate assistance; and
  • For financial assistance in the publication of papers.

Applicants must have 5 years membership in good standing in Delta Kappa Gamma and an endorsement from the chapter president. There are no membership restrictions for members applying due to extenuating circumstances.

A maximum of $1000 shall be awarded to a qualified applicant whose request, although worthy, is ineligible for scholarship assistance. Click here for the Margaret H. Croft Honorary Fund application.

The fund also provides an opportunity to recognize special service to the Society. Donations may honor members, state presidents, founders, and honorary members at the time of their deaths. Contributions from members or chapters to honor a member are possible at any time.
